Discovering Berlin

01:44:00

After London I took a straight flight to Berlin. We stayed in the hostel Industrial Palast at WarschauerstraBe. This hostel was established in East-Berlin, the rawer part of Berlin, but of course the most interesting part. What I noticed that you still have a obvious punk culture in Berlin.

The first thing we did was a tour of alternativeberlin.com. They showed us the places that they don't show in the normal, ''touristic'' tours. The guide showed us the Raw Temple it is a very cool area, with a vegan restaurant skate hall and some clubs/bars.
The one thing that amazed me is a tree house. You would think okay what is interesting about a tree house, but check out the picture under this paragraph. Yes that's the tree house. The guy who owns the house made it in the time of the Berlin wall. It was even next to the Berlin wall. Normally you are not allowed to just make a tree house with a yard but for him the Germans made an exceptions.
He made the house of anything that he could find on the street and he is even still living there!

My friend and my wanted to go to a concentration camp. So we decided to go to Sachsenhausen a few kilometers out of Berlin. It was really impressive and I think everybody should visit it.

Of course I went to a museum again, this time to the Bauhaus museum. It is a small museum but also very interesting.

Berlin is famous for his nightlife, so of course we had to check it out. The first night we went to Watergate. Watergate is a techno club next to the water, no photographs allowed and it's starting very late. We went to the club at one but in Berlin it's getting crowded at 3 or 4 a.m. The next day we went to Suicide Circus at the Raw Temple. This time we did go at 3 a.m. I think almost all the clubs in Berlin are techno clubs so also this one. It was a totally dark club with only flashing light all the time. And the last night we went to Berghain, no explanation needed, I think it is the most famous one. Remember for the clubs you have to pay around 10-15 euro's entrance so bring enough money!

After a night partying you can you a bit of relaxing right? What did we do? We went to the coolest beach of whole Berlin. YAAM!! Yaam is a reggea beach, where you can eat, drink, sit and relax.
In Berlin you see a lot of old photo boots, so if you see one take a pictures it's fun to do, because you don't get how it works in the beginning and you get some funny pictures!

For my collection I found a really beautiful beats shop. This shop is established in Berlin Mitte. THE area to shop. Don't go to Alexanderplatz, it is not that interesting..
The last thing you should visit is of course the Berlin wall, the East Side Gallery. You can check out some really nice paintings there!
